Deaf Contestant on Great British Bake Off

Earlier this week Channel 4 announced it’s return of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ for 2023. We’re delighted to see the return of famous tent and the line up of this years contestants, including deaf contestant Tasha, from Bristol.

It will begin with all 12 contestants battling it out to avoid being sent home under the watchful eye (and sampling!) from judges Paul and Prue, joined by presenter Noel and this years new presenter – Alison Hammond. One contestant will be going home after just one episode – eek!

The show is returning for its 14th series. The Great British Bake Off’s account on X said recently “Bake a date in your diaries. Join Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison on Tuesday 26th September for the return of The Great British Bake Off.”

As usual, we expect it to be fun and stressful in equal measure as each contestant competes every week to win the ‘Star Baker’ accolade. No doubt impressing us all with their creations.

We’re delighted to see Tasha in the tent and wish her lots of luck. It’s incredibly important for deaf people to have more of a presence in the media and for young deaf people to have access to deaf role models. The Great British Bake Off is such a popular show and this is their first deaf contestant.

The new series of The Great British Bake Off starts Tuesday 26th September at 8pm on Channel 4.
